Ocean to Jungle

Whether you’re a fellow traveller, a brand looking to collaborate, or you just want to argue about the best location for birdwatching in Central America – I’d love to hear from you.

For Readers: If you have a question about a specific destination, the best place to ask is in the comments section of that post. I reply to everything there, and it helps other travellers who might have the same question!

For Brands & PR: I am open to partnerships that align with authentic, sustainable, and wildlife-focused travel.

  • What I love: Conservation projects, independent lodges, wildlife photography gear, and vegan travel resources.
  • What I don’t love: Generic group bus tours, “tourist shuttles,” or anything that feels manufactured. I plan my own trips, and my audience expects the same level of grit and authenticity.

How to Reach Me: You can message me directly:

Connect Elsewhere: If you want to see the trips in action (or my attempts at golf), check out my YouTube channel or my Instagram.

Jardín has to be one of the most beautiful towns we've ever visited. Jardin means garden, and it really did like up to its name, there were rare and exotic birds everywhere we looked, all within walking distance of the bright and colourful town centre with it's ornate church and pristine gardens. Latest blog post about our time in Medellín, Colombia is now live. Medellín has undergone a remarkable transformation in the past 20 years, from the most dangerous city on the planet to recently winning an award for being the most innovative! We visited the incredible Comuna 13, now a vibrant district full of graffiti and underground culture. We also took lots of public transport, including the iconic public transport cable cars (not just for sightseeing, they actually ferry people to and from the suburbs!). We loved Medellín and you can read more about it at my link in bio, or here: New blog post is live now about our time in Corcovado National Park, one of the most biodiverse places in the world. It was a bit of a mission to get there from San Gerado, we needed a taxi, a bus, a taxi, a boat and a buggy(!), but once we arrived, we didn't want to leave... We saw so many amazing animals, both inside and outside the park. What an adventure! Today I saw the strangest and most magical birds - Oilbirds at Reserva Los Guácharos, Jardín 🇨🇴 After the quetzal success in Monteverde, we didn't think it could get much better, or much closer to a "perfect" sighing. But I'd had a hotel booked in San Gerado de Dota just in case, as here is supposed to be BEST place to see Quetzals in the whole world... We got off to a shaky start and our 6-8am hike along la Quebrada didn't present anything... But back at the hummingbird garden a male quetzal almost dropped an avocado on my head! 🤣 My latest blog post is now live! We visited Monteverde in Costa Rica, home to the spectacular cloud forests. Here you can see the elusive Resplendent Queztal, a bird we have tried to see since Guatemala! The region is also famous for it's hanging bridges suspended high amongst the canopy. We loved it here!
